Self Storage Stories

Managers of Self Storage Facilities have experienced the many sides of many tenants. Most tenants are kind people, but all are going through something in their lives that isn’t kind- just like you and me. We all experience circumstances that are less than perfect. Self Storage Managers hear about them all. This is not really unusual since most folks who need Storage are going through a stressful time- moving, needing more space in their homes for returning children or elderly parents needing care, loss of a home, loss of a job, etc. The list goes on and on. The point is that Self Storage Managers hear the whole story of a tenants problems. We do understand. When any one goes through a stressful time, they just need someone to talk to. Who better to tell your troubles to than the person who is renting you a Storage unit? After all, an explanation for needing Storage is acceptable. Most Managers understand this is part of the job. Personally, I don’t mind because listening helps ease their stress. In addition, it builds a relationship between the tenant and the Self Storage Manager. Self Storage Managers learn about tenants children and their accomplishments and problems, passing away of family members and friends, as well as their pets and how much they love them. This kind of relationship between tenants and Self Storage Managers often feels like family. Raport is good. Even when most tenants fail to make a timely monthly rent payment and are required to pay a late fee, they realize their error without malice. However, sometimes that is not the case. There are always a few people, not only Self Storage Facility tenants, that believe everything that happens in their lives that are stressful is someone else’s fault. They have a need to ” blame” someone other than themselves. These are the folks who use the same excuse for not paying the rent on their rented Self Storage unit month after month. They expect everyone they meet to feel sorry for them and are convinced the world owes them something. They yell, swear, call you names, makes threats and believe it must be the fault of the Self Storage Manager that they didn’t pay their rent and ended up with an additional late fee. Then, they get really angry when they realize they are denied access to their Storage unit until they pay the rent on it. Would you still have electric, gas or water if you didn’t pay your bill? We, at StoreRight Self Storage respect and appreciate our tenants. We value their business and enjoy building a relationship with them. Our tenants are wonderful people, who sometimes encounter difficulties. StoreRight Self Storage is happy to help, even if it is just listening to make them feel better. Who knows, one day the Self Storage Manager may need a shoulder to lean on. StoreRight Self Storage says thank you to all of our tenants for choosing StoreRight. Right Place. Right Price.
