AUCTION! AUCTION! AUCTION!
Tuesday, March 26th
10:00 A.M.

Free Coffee & Doughnuts, Too!

If you’d like to see a storage auction, live and in person; you’re more than welcome to
attend our Lien Sale/Storage Auction, which will be held on Tuesday, March 26,
2019 at 10:00 a.m. at StoreRight Self Storage, 1227 S Lecanto Hwy, in Lecanto.

Feel free to forward this email to any of your friends who might be interested in
attending. Also, check out and share our Facebook page for more up to date details
on the auction.

So, if you’d like to attend the auction, you certainly can. The public is welcome to
bid. The auctioneer will explain the process before the bidding starts, but a couple
things to note:

1. It’s CASH only, payable to the Auctioneer, immediately after the sale. You can’t go
home & get cash or go to the ATM. There isn’t time, as the Auctioneer will complete
the sale in Lecanto and then will go on to do other Lien Sales at other facilities immediately afterward.

2. The winning bidder buys the entire unit, meaning everything in the unit. You can’t
pick and choose items. The unit must be completely emptied out within 48 hours, and
it must be in a broom clean condition after ALL the items are removed.

3. A $50 CASH cleaning deposit is required. That needs to be paid to StoreRight at
the conclusion of the sale. The $50 is returned once the unit is completely empty and
clean and has been inspected by a StoreRight employee.

Stop by on March 26th, if you’d like to see what the auctions are all
about! Or just come by for the free coffee and doughnuts!

Thanks!

10 Items that need to be stored in a climate controlled unit.

No body wants to pay more for a storage unit, but will they pay more to protect their belongings? The simple answer is yes! If its worth storing then it definitely is worth protecting. Now what exactly needs to be stored in a climate controlled storage unit? According to an article found on a blog post for Storage.com here are the ten items that need climate controlled units and the reasons why:
1) WOODEN FURNITURE
• Exposed to too much moisture over time, wood can crack, warp, or rot.
2) LEATHER FURNITURE
• Leather is sensitive to swings of hot and cold. Leather furniture can easily be damaged by extreme temperature fluctuations and changes in humidity. The leather could shrivel, split, or even warp.
4) SPECIAL COLLECTIONS
• A climate controlled unit will prevent damage caused by temperature and humidity.
3) HOUSEHOLD APPLIANCES
• You should store these items in a climate controlled unit to protect electronic and mechanical parts from cracking and rust that can cause permanent damage.
5) MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS
• Mold can begin to build up inside of the instrument because of the moisture, instruments are usually made of wood, leather and other materials that need climate and humidity control.
6) ARTWORK
• Paintings should be stored at about 50% humidity and a temperature between 70-75°F.
7) CLOTHING
• Your clothing can get mold or mildew while stored for several months in a non climate controlled unit.
8) BUSINESS DOCUMENTS & INVENTORY
• Important documents will fade, discolor, or dissolve with exposure to moisture in a non climate controlled unit.
9) PHOTOS
• At high temperatures in an non climate controlled unit where photos are stacked on top of one another, the prints can blend together and deteriorate ruining the pictures.
10) ELECTRONICS
• Drastic temperature changes that can damage electronics. The screens and internal components of plasma TVs in particular don’t do well in extreme hot or cold weather conditions.

Hurricane Season 2018

It seems like only yesterday that I woke up on the morning of September 10, 2017 to find myself with no power and a 100 foot tree lying across my front yard. I was extremely lucky. Although I had no electricity, internet, telephone or running water for a week, that tree missed everything in the yard: power lines, house, car, outside light pole, pump house, fence – everything! That tree couldn’t have fallen any more perfectly! I was blessed!
Here at the StoreRight Self Storage office in Brooksville, we were also very lucky. We had no electricity, phone or internet for a couple of days and were under an order to boil the drinking water but we really only had limbs and branches all over the grounds to clean up.
Many in this area were not so lucky. We had many new tenants who were in need of a safe place to store what was left of their belongings while they looked for a new place to live or waited for contractors to repair their homes.
Now, on a bright sunny afternoon is the perfect time to consider how well prepared you are for a disaster.
How is your insurance coverage? Do you need to upgrade your policy? Will your policy cover goods stored offsite if you need it?
Do you have space in a garage or shed if you need to store out door furniture or lawn equipment? Or do you know where there are self storage facilities in your area and which ones are the best?
Are there home maintenance projects or repairs that you have been putting off? Addressing them now could save you time and money later.
Look at supplies you have around your home. Batteries usually can be stored for quite a while and picking up a few here and there is a lot easier on the wallet than trying to buy a bunch all at once to say nothing of not having to deal with everyone in the area trying to stock up all at once. Check your supply of tape and flash lights and maybe a couple of sheets of plywood, maybe a tarp or two. These things can be relatively inexpensive if you pick up an item here and there rather than trying to buy them all at once to say nothing of having to fight dwindling inventories when everyone in the neighborhood is fighting for the same items. This will also leave you a little wiggle room in the budget for items that you can’t really stock up on (like ice, etc).
For more ideas and tips, check out your area’s Emergency Management division. Here in Hernando County (Florida) the Emergency Management Department will be having their Hurricane Expo 2018 on May 5th. You can get tips, see demonstrations and vendors. And since it’s being held at the Hernando County Fairgrounds, it it less than a mile from StoreRight Self Storage in Brooksville. Stop by, check out the facility, meet the staff and if you need a unit now, check out some of our amazing specials!
The bottom line is that when the weatherman says we are in the path of a hurricane, there will be stress. The more you prepare now, the less stress there will be then. Stay safe!

So much to do!!
